This is a big update! Quite a lot changed from version 0.17.
- Removed light dice and dark dice in favour of a more straightforward Blades-style dice pool system.
- Revamped gear, again leaning closer to Forged in the Dark. Gear has a quality rating which determines its value, and it can have tags that allow you to upgrade it. Most tags only factor into fictional positioning, only the fine tag grants bonus dice.
- Changed luck points to be more similar to Blades or Wayfarer. Instead of using two trademarks on a single roll, you can use luck to push yourself for dice or effect. Soaking harm now merely lessens damage, rather than negating it entirely.
- Changed devil’s bargains to give the player a choice between 1 XP and 1 luck point.
- Removed hits and replaced them with a system of conditions and injuries.
- Did a 180 on using progress clocks as hit points. Now it’s discouraged. Tough threats are represented by their unique powers and defenses, rather than by a clock which must be whittled down.
